Long-staple Cotton
GOTSRain-fed, non-GMO. Hand-picked at second flowering for staple length above 32mm.
Root and Fibre is a B2B textile and clothing house supplying labels, ateliers and contract manufacturers with naturally-sourced fabric and finished garments — at wholesale tonnage, without compromise on provenance.
Every bale we ship is traced back to a named field, flock, or forest. We source only what the soil can renew — no synthetic petrochemical fibres, no hidden middlemen, no greige cloth from grey supply.
Our mills run on closed-loop water cycles, low-impact dyestuffs, and pay above-region living wages. We publish a quarterly impact letter to every account — uncomfortable numbers included.
The cloth is the easy part. The harder, slower work is keeping the whole chain — soil to seam — honest. That is the work we have committed to.
We will turn down a contract that asks us to compromise on it. We have. We will again.
Six base programmes, twelve weights, and an ever-rotating set of seasonal hand-loom drops. Custom blends and bespoke colourways are quoted on request.
Rain-fed, non-GMO. Hand-picked at second flowering for staple length above 32mm.
Single-origin flax, dew-retted in the field. Wet-spun for a crisp, lustrous yarn.
Grease-spun lambswool from regenerative grazing flocks. Lanolin retained.
Stalk-derived bast fibres carded with organic hemp for canvas-weight fabrics.
Forest-reared, ahimsa-harvested. Hand-reeled by 14 women-led cooperatives.
TENCEL™ Lyocell with REFIBRA™ technology — 30% post-consumer cotton waste.
Four programmes, scoped together. Pick one — or hand us the whole brief and we will run it end to end.
Direct relationships with 38 mills and 11 cooperatives, with full chain-of-custody documentation on every bale.
Greige, piece-dyed and yarn-dyed fabric in widths 110–300cm. Minimums from 60 metres for sampling, 600+ for production.
Small- and mid-batch garment manufacturing across woven, knitted and jersey programmes — patterns, grading, finishing in-house.
White-label basics, uniform contracts, and seasonal capsules built to your tech-pack — with traceability tags ready for retail.
“They quoted us on a 4,800-piece linen run with a sourcing dossier we could literally hand to our auditors. The cloth arrived two days early and the hand-feel is somewhere between heirloom and brand new.”
“We needed a hemp-cotton canvas at 14oz that did not look like a sack. R&F sent six swatches in eleven days, and the third one became our entire workwear line. The mill conversation alone was worth the switch.”
“For our hospitality contract we needed 11,200 metres of OEKO-TEX cotton sateen, dyed to a very specific clay pantone, on a 9-week window. Root and Fibre was the only supplier who said yes and meant it.”
